MF0029 – EJ EH Windshield Washer Pump Installation Notes

To install the washer pump, it must be connected to a power wire (Dark Blue) from the fuse panel and a negative switch wire (Light Blue) to the wiper switch as shown below. This is made easy using the Mad Folk patch loom (sold separately) which comes cut to length with correct terminals fitted. The 2 single connectors are not fitted to the loom to help with fitting the loom through the wiring grommet in the firewall. Once the harness is feed through the grommet the 2 single connectors can be installed and connected to the fuse panel and the wiper switch.

Once the wires are through the firewall grommet, route them along the steering column and connect to the fuse panel and the wiper switch as shown.

If you prefer to wire in the pump yourself, the terminal polarity is as show.

The pump was fitted in this general location when fitted as a dealer option. Place the pump on the firewall and scribe the holes ensuring the pump is nice and level. Using a 4mm Drill bit drill the three holes, be sure to double check that there is nothing in the way on the other side of the firewall before drilling.

Note: These pumps are designed to suck water from the bottom of the washer bottle as shown. They will not self-prime if the reservoir tube is fed into the top of the bottle.
